Kranj ,Slovenia - 30.06.2015 : Preserens Grove, In 1798, the cemetery by the parish church in the old town centre was abandoned and burials occurred in a new cemetery outside the city walls, this newer cemetery was subsequently abandoned in the years prior to WWII. In 1951, the newer cemetery was rearranged into a memorial park designed architects Marjan Sorli and Ruska Ogorevc. The most important monuments in the park are, poet Dr. France Preserens tombstone, poet Simon Jenkos tombstone, the Majdics vault with marble relief Resurrection (made by Ivan Zajc in 1910) and a memorial to the Bazovica victims and Vladimir Gortan, shot in Pulj (1931), which is one of the earliest memorials to the victims of fascism in Europe.
