: Kokra canyon is an almost 30-metre deep gorge which was cut out of a conglomerate terrace by the Kokra river Ð it dates back to the Ice Age. It is a variegated mosaic of aquatic and riparian biotopes comprising the river, bank, gravel bars, flooded woods meadow, rock blocks and conglomerate walls. Such a dynamic and variegated area offers a home and shelter to numerous species of flora and fauna. It is a protected nature site in old Kranj town centre.
